Our Union

Ibadan Descendants Development Union (IDDU) Canada is a not-for profit, social-cultural and philanthropic organization which provides a common platform through which Ibadan city indigenes of Nigeria in Canada come together as one body to achieve common goals and objectives.
IDDU consists of members with different specializations, educational qualifications and life experiences. Our vision at IDDU is to be the leading social-cultural and philanthropic organization in Canada.

Our Heritage

Ibadan, capital city of Oyo state, Nigeria, located on seven hills, Oke Padre, Oke Ade, Oke Bola, Oke Mapo, Oke Are, Oke Sapati, Oke Mokola. It is one of the most populous cities in the country.
Ibadan is an important commercial centre. Virtually every street and corner in the traditional core and the inner suburbs of the city is a market square or stall. Within the city there are many markets. The largest daily market stretches in a belt from the railway station in the west to the centre of the city and is Ibadan’s commercial core.

Our Project

IDDU supports new immigrants to Canada, by providing the logistics such as clothing materials and foods. Our organization also provide resources that will quickly help the new immigrants to integrate into the Canadian culture, and also support in job searching.
Shelters across Ontario experienced surge in the number of people in need of food, cloth, and a space to sleep. IDDU donated foods and clothes to the Working Women Community Centre to be distributed to the less privileged in the community.
